You Got This

Ahhhhh Day release. What a wonderful hour! We picked a walk avoiding as many people as possible, but if my route was recorded it would show so many zigzags it would look like a heart rate monitor. Isn’t it funny that it’s now normal to step into a road just to avoid walking within 2 meters of someone on a path? My favourite line of the day was from a lady who swerved out of the way and as she passed she smiled and said ‘nothing personal’.

I could probably tell you the contents of the fridge in the exact layout without having to go near the kitchen I’ve opened the door that many times. Whilst some are out there getting up and doing Joe Wick’s PE session in the morning, I’m wondering if it’s acceptable to eat a bar of Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations for breakfast.

Last night we, along with 23 million others, tuned into The Queen’s address to the Nation whilst on FaceTime to our travel buddies cheersing her motivating and moving speech with our 4th glass of wine.

Now that the sun has shone for four days straight, I feel like I am probably the most prepared for this period of life with my backpack full of shorts and vests. We attempted to do some gardening and so the fact that my clothes have sat in that bag for 4 months meant I couldn’t care less about an extra bit of mud or dirt getting on them. I am, however, thinking that we need to ‘bed down’ for the long-haul and think my packing cubes could become a makeshift chest-of-drawers.

8 nights in the same bed! This is the longest we’ve spent in any bed for 4 whole months and I have to say, I’m really quite enjoying it.
