Everyone knows I love the clap for carers at 8pm on a Thursday… but as the evenings get lighter, it’s becoming apparent that I can no longer hide my pineapple hair do, no makeup, mid-eyebrow tint look in the darkness. I might actually have to start getting dressed up for the occasion so as not to scare the neighbours.
Today was a fabulous day. We caught up with lots of family and booked in more FaceTime chats- it’s like an appointment diary now with FaceTime- everyone needs you to book in and stick to the time.
We also sent the family Happy Birthday video over to my nephew and he howled with laughter along with my sister. Note- need to work on covering my craziness.
I also met a lovely old lady today on my walk, struggling with her shopping. I stood far away from her shouting down the street to see if she was OK doing her shopping alone. Lots of events have lead up to her having no choice but to make the trip on foot to the supermarket and balance it all on her walking aid back to her house. I nearly cried right then and there in the street, so after giving her my number- half the town now knows it as I was shouting from afar- she gave me a little call when she got home and I’ll make sure I get her shopping delivered to her now we’re pretty near the end of our 2 week isolation and I will be able to go food shopping again!!!
It feels like summer and with Easter just 1 sleep away, I will have the excuse of eating chocolate all day everyday!!! Wahooooo!
You are so sweet helping the old lady!
